This past weekend, Justin and I day hiked up to Mt. San Antonio, popularly known as Mt. Baldy. We went up the short trail, 4.5 miles and 4000 vertical feet one way. While nethier Justin or I are out of shape, many people passed us, including 3 guys with these:
That’s right, it’s a Mountain Unicycle. They beat us up the hill by quite a bit, but we didn’t see them come down. I think they cycled down the less steep, but much longer rail across the Devil’s Backbone.
Everyone likes waterfalls, and San Antonio falls are an easy 3/4 mile from the bottom
Here’s me at the top. Notice the lack of trees, hence the name Mt. Baldy. The sign says
San Antonio
“Mt. Baldy”
Elev 10,064
Lower down on the mountain, there are very large trees however, that provide lots of nice shade to rest under.
