For once, astronomers are rooting for an asteroid to hit: Asteroid on track for possible Mars hit – Los Angeles Times. It’s possible that the 1 in 75 chance of impact could be observed from earth, or satellites we have on Mars. Not a good idea to get our hopes up about being close enough to one of the Mars Rovers though.
