Alone again, alone again, jiggity jig.

I’m back in South Gate. For the first time in a week, I’m spending more than an hour alone and apart from anyone else. The radio is going strong (KROQ), half of my dirty dishes are cleaned, and my cupboard is bare. A bit of down time tonight, a bit of food. Probably McDonalds as it is close by. I’ve been eating out every day for the past week, and am getting fat.

Tomorrow? Get some work that has happened in the past week done, then try to relax and unwind.

A few other things have happened:

Sally called me during lunch yesterday, from Phantom Ranch. She and John were being helicoptered out of the canyon. His white blood count was down (he has Cushman’s syndrome, which is a weak immune system), and the park service agreed that it was a potential issue, and gave them a free helicopter ride out of the canyon. First thing the NPS has done right in the past two months.

Steve is released from jail, and is now at home.

We got back to Steve’s place about 1:15am this morning.

I go back to my parent’s house, and fleas start to bite from the carpet. Great…. I bug bombed the house, and gave the dogs a flea bath. I’ll check tomorrow, and see if I was successful, or if I need to repeat as needed.

How’s your summer vacation going?

Bah, don’t believe the news reports too much. I’ve read the criminal complaints. They say 11 counts, which is true, but they are all related to 2 individual activities.

See the thing is, things like this don’t happen to me. They happen around me. (which is what happened in this case).

Oh, and Michelle? Your neighbor is piloting the big boat, the 37 foot J rig. His first time. Sally told me he was doing well with it though.

  5. Helen says:
