Dodger Commentary

The Dodgers are playing a double header in Philadelphia today. 3 to 0, Dodgers leading in the 3rd. But the commentary on channel 9! Charlie Stiener and Steve Lyons commentary is painful. I want my Vin Scully back. I know, he doesn’t like to travel any more. But with all of our computer technology, can’t we have a Scully simulator? While there must be a new type of play every so often in baseball, Scully has seen most of them. The computer could fill in the players name, and the type of day, and the pitch count…..

Oh yeah, and curse KCAL 9 for not showing the game in High Definition too.

I like it. Could we also get a Chick Hearn simulator for those basketball games?

  2. Bill says:

Absolutely. Get the iconic announcer for each sport.

But if we follow through with this, then you have to get a Madden one for the NFL. Considering they’ve basically already this with all the Madden NFL games for XBox and PlayStation, it should be pretty easy.

    Naeem reminded me today:

Naeem: one of the highest praises I’ve heard of Scully is that if you don’t know any better, you can’t tell which team he works for when doing the commentary

Not only are we loosing skilled announcers, but we get inane comments on tv, inside jokes, and just painful experiences. After a time machine is created, the first thing we do is steal good commentators for sporting events.
