High School Students Extend Immigration Protests Into 4th Day – Los Angeles Times
Kids got onto the freeway. Seriously…. not helping their situation at all.
Any thoughts I put on this tonight will be in haste and reaction to their stupidity.
WHich doesn’t deal with the issue at hand at all.
For the record: Chanting Mexico and waving Mexican flags will not play well in Peoria.
Update: While I don’t like much of Villaraigosa, he took the right attitude in telling them to return to school. The boos made me laugh though.
Tomorrow: LAUSD is under lockdown.
Update 2: Looks like the internet helped set this up… I predict that Myspace is involved.
Update 3: Fox News says 36,000 kids in the LA area ditched school today…. and they (person on the news) want to have a day called “latino economic boycott day” for hispanics to ditch school and skip work, to show the impact they have on society. I’m well aware of the hispanic influence on our society, golly, you think skipping work and school says you are a big part of American society? This sort of news will not play well back east at all, and those are the votes that are needed in the Senate to fight the proposed bill in Congress.
screw it… enough news for tonight. I’m going to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a busy customer relations day….

It’s fascinating to me just how much Congress can ignore, when it wants to. Even with the Minutemen “patrolling” in Virginia, Congressfolk don’t seem to understand that latino immigration issues are not only relevant way out west. I live within 10 miles of the Capitol, and half of the magazines in my supermarket are in Spanish. I doubt that they’re doing that for the benefit of the local high school Spanish students.
