Baseball gets weirder. In a week of upsets, and the Dodgers clinching the NL West on a loss, there is now a weird replay call in San Francisco. A single is reviewed into a homerun, but while the hitter was on first, he was given a pinch runner. After review (!) it was declared a homerun, and the pinch runner scored.
But now Bochy is protesting the call that gave him a 2 run homerun (to tie the game) because he wasted a runner! It looks like the umpires got a few phone calls from the MLB office during the review and argument process, but oh boy. It just goes to show that just when you think you’ve seen it all, baseball gives you something new.
