South Gate’s former treasurer gets 10 years – Los Angeles Times

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Albert Robles has been sentenced to prison! This afternoon, a judge announced Robles’ sentence for stealing 12 million dollars from the city of South Gate: 10 years in prison, and paying back $600,000. I’m just glad this whole affair is wrapping up. At least for the most part. There’s still the deal with Robles’ cronies [...]

Gettysburg visit

Monday, November 20th, 2006

So to continue from my Maryland trip, here are a few photos from our visit to Gettysburg! A key photo here is what strikes you before you even walk in the door. An overly paranoid sign. I’m surprised I was allowed to take a picture of this sign. My cousin Kathrine decided to look at [...]

Old news

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

Last September, my brother and I went back east to visit some of our cousins. I’ve waited almost 2 whole months to post pictures, and that’s just impolite of me On our first day out there, we visited Baltimore, and saw Fort McHenry The day after that, our cousin Kathrine took us around Washington DC, [...]

Mammoth Deck

Monday, November 13th, 2006

Robots apparently think that humans taste like bacon. I for one will not welcome our new human eating robot over lords.

Telegraph | News | Climate chaos? Don’t believe it An article I want to read later. I don’t know the validity of it, but I’m always a fan of taking a skeptical look at many politicized environmental issues.

1913: Torrent of silver water arrives from Owens Valley – Los Angeles Times

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

125 years ago, the City of Los Angeles completed a great aqueduct. The LA Times remembers with 1913: Torrent of silver water arrives from Owens Valley With out this aqueduct that drained that siphoned Sierra Nevada snowfall, the LA would have had a hard time providing water for 100,000 people, let alone the 4 million [...]
