Hard drive, RAM, and then an in between flash memory section. Have your virtual memory partition be on flash memory, similar to a USB key (of course, USB keys are too slow, but that's the bus speed, not the memory itself). You need more virtual memory space? Just install another compact flash or SD card. 350 for a gig? For my 2 gig, I paid just over 300 with shipping. Guess you got the special waterproof kind, right?
