I’m back!
Monday, May 30th, 2005ok, I’ve been back for over a day now. But I’ve been relaxing away from the computer. The trip was fun, I packed too much food, hurt my leg on the first day, and have been hobbling ever since.

By now, i should have driven around to the South Rim, and be inside Havasu Canyon. This indian reservation is known for bright blue waters, and spectacular waterfalls.

That’s my cousing Doug, Sarah Jane ( who bailed on the trip I am currently on, [...]

Here’s some photos from when I was there last, in August 2000. All of these photos were taken by my Aunt, Mary-Sarah Bradley

I’m resting today. But the hot summer sun is forcing me to move(hopefully ) to damper conditions. I hope not rodents got into my food either, but I brought a bear keg to keep them out.
OOh, I must be sore today! Long 9.5 mile trail down hill, then frozen seafood that went bad in the hot desert sun.
I’m going to day hike today, maybe down to where the warm Tapeats Creek meets the chilly Colorado river, or maybe up to Tapeats Spring and Cave.
Then we move the campsite over [...]
Today, we should be begining our decesnt into the Grand Canyon, along the Bill Hall Trail. There is no water until we get to our campsite, at Upper Tapeats Creek. Probably the open flat patch of brown in the middle of that photo.
This is our only night with water at the camp ground, and I [...]
We should be on the road by the time you read this. Nice, 12 hour drive. Breakfast in Victorville at Denny’s, lunch in St. George, Utah, and then dinner in Knab.
We will be sleeping at the rim of the Grand Canyon tonight, and getting an early start tomorrow.
I weighed my pack tonight….. 65 pounds to start with, and I’m not even done yet! My dad is at 30 pounds, and Ed is at 35. Course, they don’t have food or water yet either….. Time to sleep, I need to be up dark and early tomorrow!
