Comic understatement of the week.
Every so often, I come across a line that is just a huge understatement.
Happened again tonight, reading Batman issue 637. In this issue Batman and Nightwing fight a prototype of the Amazo Android, that was going to be sold to Gotham’s current underworld king, Black Mask. But that wasn’t all. In a conversation at the end of the book, Black Mask is talking to the new Red Hood, who stole something from the same shipment as Amazo. I’ll quote the conversation now:
Black Mask: “I heard. I take it you took something”
Red Hood “I did. I think it’s the top shelf item.”
BM: “Sonofa… which crate is it?”
RH: “I don’t have the manifest number, but I can tell you…The box is filled iwth over one hundred pounds of kryptonite”
BM: “Yeah… I’m gonna need that”
Yes. Every supervillian needs 100 pounds of Superman killing rock.
