Water in the West
An interesting article today on where Las Vegas is planning on getting it’s water for the future. The mere fact that Vegas has so much water in fountains and other open areas for evaporation is almost criminal.
Vegas is looking at tapping a few ancient aquifers in Nevada for use. Nice idea, but these are not replenishable. The water may last a few decades, or even centuries, but it will run out. In the 1920s, artesian wells still bubbled in Vegas. Now, it is almost impossible even to pump water locally in the Vegas area
Course, California has been stealing water from the other states for years. from the other states and Mexico.
