SpaceShipOne’s successful flight
Today, mankind reached a new milestone. The first private spaceflight. Now, it’s the Russians, the Americans, the Chinese and the private sector. I’m all in favor of this. My real reason? I want to go. Space, the moon, Mars, even further. I’d like to go personally, even if one way, but I’ll settle for mankind going. And I don’t think the American People will allow it as a government financed venture, unless it’s a competition against other nations. And that would not be best either.
I don’t want space politicized, but I don’t see how it can’t be. Anybody who says let the UN run it, buzz off. The first people there will be the ones who control the area. And while I’d like it to be America(my nationalism coming in to play here), I’ll settle for Americans in space. Who knows, perhaps we’ll go, colonize, and then declare independence from Earth. I’ll just be happy if we can avoid colonies being a mercantilist, totalitarian prison camp.
But hey, the first step is one that counts!
