New Furniture

Sunday, June 27th, 2004

So I bought some new furniture today. A nice 10 drawer dresser and mirror. Mission style oak, like my bed. It matches the bed very well, but it does clash with my teak bookcase. Fortunately, the bookcase is covered in books, doing it’s job, so it’s not as noticeable. I may post a pic of [...]

It’s a bit sad, but take a look at it has humor for a Sunday morning. Just remember to not leave food cooking before you leave the house.

Melissa Grad party

Saturday, June 26th, 2004

Had fun at Melissa’s grad party. Saw people. Saw people drink. Saw people do stupid things while drunk. Course me, I never do any of that, save watch. So there I am.

Scioscia’s Revenge, or my curse is back.

Friday, June 25th, 2004

Well, those of you who watch baseball know the Dodgers got blown a way by the Angels. I was there… I want my 5 bucks back.

Saw Chronicles of Riddick with Ed tonight. Good movie. Nice action, good plot, nice thrill. Not too deep, but that wasn’t what I was looking for. Just good escapist fun.
Got a phone call from a friend of a friend. Has a couple job openings. I’m going to look into that. Would be in Irvine, but [...]

Las Vegas SUN: DOE picks rail option, Caliente corridor to Nevada nuke dump
This article from last April goes on about how the feds picked a rail route that is nonexistent to transport nuclear waste to our new nuclear waste dump in Nevada at Yucca Mountain. I wonder how we’re going to get the waste coast [...]

Water in the West

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2004

An interesting article today on where Las Vegas is planning on getting it’s water for the future. The mere fact that Vegas has so much water in fountains and other open areas for evaporation is almost criminal.
Vegas is looking at tapping a few ancient aquifers in Nevada for use. Nice idea, but these are [...]

SpaceShipOne’s successful flight

Monday, June 21st, 2004

SpaceShipOne
Today, mankind reached a new milestone. The first private spaceflight. Now, it’s the Russians, the Americans, the Chinese and the private sector. I’m all in favor of this. My real reason? I want to go. Space, the moon, Mars, even further. I’d like to go personally, even if one way, but I’ll settle for mankind [...]

Hopes and dreams

Dodgers win. Great game…. I’m feeling good. I’m going to make sure I get to bed early tonight, get a full night sleep, then drive into work tomorrow for a full day. We’ll see if how tomorrow goes. Tony will be back so i will have a bit of an easier time. My main concern [...]
