I’ve started reading Farther than any Man: The Rise and Fall of Captain James Cook by Martin Douglas. Good easy reading. Started at lunch, and I am now at page 94 of 287. Right now, Lieutant Cook just landed in Tahiti for the first time.
So far, quite a read. A real adventurer, that likes that one can only aspire to. Quit a comfortable, mildly profitable job to take the lowest rank in the Navy, and is only climbing up ranks towards command and destiny.
All the reasons to go out and have fun are here. Now if I can only take the time off to repeat those voyages.
